League of Legends Hacked.Names & Emails Stolen.League of Legends developers Riot Games have forwarded a reportproviding details about a recent violation of some of the firm’s servers, leading to the theft of player data.
The EU West and EU Nordic & East databases were accessed in the interruption, and Riot said that while no payment or billing facts were taken, what was lost were electronic mail addresses, the name of a player’s role andbirth dates.
In a few casesfirst and last name and encrypted security question and answer have been stolen.
Riot said that the “detailed security issue” hackers were capable of exploiting has been geared up, and is now informing all affected.
Because as many as half of the passwords stolen were basic enough to be “simple enough to be in danger of easy cracking”, they’re advocatingeveryone change their passwords.
