The Season 7 of Electronic Sports League’s Intel Extreme Masters event will this time bring only two video games, viz. Starcraft II and League of Legends.
Season 7 of ESL’s Intel Extreme Masters will take place from August 15 to August 19 at GamesCom in Cologne, Germany.
ESL is going to the first league up to now to have just two games for its entire season.
When questioned why the league has chosen just these two titles for its upcoming entire season, ESL director of pro gaming Michal “Carmac” Blicharz said they were not really committed to any strict number of games in the Intel Extreme Masters.
Speaking on the topic, Blicharz added they were focusing on the quality as they were building a foundation for the next season.
Speaking on the topic, Blicharz said, “This season, our main goal is to really up the quality of what we do, and we needed focus for that. It’s a foundation that we are building for the next season.”
Since Season 3, this is going to be the first ESL season that will bring just two official video games instead of three. Two weeks back, ESL erased Counter-Strike 1.6 from the list of its games. Counter-Strike 1.6 had been on the list for a total of six seasons. It was the only video game that had been showed in every ESL season. Quake Live was removed last year.
